2023 Movie Releases — Q1

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (February 17)

Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and the Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) are back in action with a thrilling new mission that sees them exploring strange creatures inside the Quantum Realm in the first film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s highly anticipated phase 5. Joined by Hope’s parents Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), they must brave uncharted territory to go beyond their limits. Jonathan Majors joins as Kang for an energy-filled adventure sure to electrify Marvel fans everywhere!

Cocaine Bear (February 24)

Cocaine Bear is another movie people are buzzing about ahead of its release next year. In a scene straight out of the Wild West, an unlikely assortment of figures converged on a Georgia forest after news spread that a 500-pound black bear had gone berserk due to narcotics. Cops and criminals alike teamed up against this formidable force as tourists and teenagers looked on in awe — all thanks to one ill-fated decision by an unsuspecting wildlife enthusiast.

Creed III (March 3)

Creed III is another highly anticipated sequel coming out next year, continuing Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan)’s journey as a reigning boxing champion, flourishing in both his personal and professional life. But when Damian (Jonathan Majors) — an old friend who also happens to be a fierce former pro boxer — comes back into the picture after spending time behind bars, Adonis must face him off for more than just bragging rights; it’s about putting their respective futures on the line. It’s set up to be one of sport’s greatest rivalries… and there can only be one victor.

Scream VI (March 10)

Scream VI looks set to return us back into familiar territory with directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin bringing us another installment in Wes Craven’s iconic slasher series. After surviving the most recent brush with death, sisters Samantha (Melissa Barrera) and Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega) as well as their twin friends Chad (Mason Gooding) and Mindy Meeks (Jasmin Savoy Brown) chose to leave Woodsboro, California behind them in search of a brighter future. Little did they know that this journey would bring danger just around the corner — for when they arrived in New York City there was another Ghostface killer on the loose.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods (March 17)

Shazam! Fury of the Gods promises even more fun adventures for our favorite family superhero Shazam! Zachary Levi returns in his titular role alongside fellow cast members Asher Angel & Jack Dylan Grazer who are all set for another entertaining romp through DC Comics world filled with laughs & thrills galore.

John Wick: Chapter 4 (March 24)

John Wick: Chapter 4 marks Keanu Reeves‘ return once again as John Wick — no doubt expecting even more explosive action sequences filled with spectacular stunts which have become synonymous with these movies. With these stunts alongside more darkly comedic moments throughout, it looks like it’ll be another great outing for Mr. Wick himself.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (March 31)

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves takes us into classic fantasy territory based on the Wizards Of The Coast game’s Forgotten Realms campaign setting. Expect lots of mystical creatures & spellcasting amidst some exciting battles between good & evil forces alike — perfect material for any Dungeons And Dragons fan out there looking forward to watching this adaptation come alive onscreen.

The Super Mario Bros Movie (April 7)

The Super Mario Bros Movie has been long awaited by Nintendo fans worldwide ever since it was first announced — now finally set to release this year; expect lots of familiar characters including Mario (Chris Pratt) and Luigi (Charlie Day) alongside other mainstays such as Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy), Bowser (Jack Black), and Toad (Keegan-Michael Key).

Renfield (April 14)

After centuries of being bound to the whims of his dark master, Dracula (Nicolas Cage), Renfield (Nicholas Hoult) is finally ready for a life away from endless servitude in Renfield. He ventures off in search of freedom and independence, and perhaps he’ll find something even more meaningful along the way.

The Little Mermaid (May 26)

Longing for adventure, Ariel (Halle Bailey), the youngest of King Triton (Javier Bardem)’s daughters ventures to explore the mysterious world beyond her underwater home. During this journey, she meets and falls in love with a daring human prince named Eric (Jonah Hauer-King). In order to live life on land as part of his kingdom and follow her heart’s desire, Ariel strikes an agreement with the wicked sea witch Ursula (Melissa McCarthy).

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (June 2)

When Brooklyn’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) reunites with Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), he is taken on an incredible interdimensional journey filled with remarkable versions of himself — the webbed warriors who protect the Multiverse from harm. But when circumstances call for a heroic decision that conflicts with team morals, it’s up to our resident wallcrawler to decide what kind of hero he will be in order to save those dearest and nearest him.

Elemental (June 16)

An innovative exploration of a dynamic new world, introducing viewers to Element City: where inhabitants with elemental affinities call home. In the center of this vibrant city lies Ember (Leah Lewis), who seeks adventure and answers as she questions her beliefs in what life should be alongside Wade (Mamoudou Athie) — whose relaxed attitude encourages our protagonist on their journey together.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (June 30)

Another thrilling journey awaits audiences with Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, where our beloved archaeologist (Harrison Ford) must battle dangerous forces in order to protect a powerful artifact from ending up in the wrong hands.

Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One (July 14)

The excitement doesn’t end there though! Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One continues Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise)’s latest mission as he teams up with his IMF team along with some familiar faces from previous films in order to complete their impossible task. 

Barbie (July 21)

For those looking for something more lighthearted, Barbie is set for release this year and tells the story of Barbie (Margot Robbie)’s search for a sense of belonging in a world where she feels out of place. 

Oppenheimer (July 21)

For a tale of realism, be sure to check out Oppenheimer. J. Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy) led a team of remarkable scientists during the Manhattan Project, resulting in one of history’s most significant discoveries: the atomic bomb. With his impressive knowledge and leadership skills, this physicist helped change our world forever.

The Marvels (July 28)

Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) is back and teaming up with Wandavision’s S.W.O.R.D agent Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) as well as newcomer Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani). Director Nia DaCosta‘s sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel will explore new realms as our titular hero works to unravel the mysteries left in WandaVision and Ms. Marvel’s wake while she takes on an epic journey alongside these two strong female characters.

Blue Beetle (August 18)

Comic book fans won’t be disappointed in 2023 either as yet another superhero film debuts. Blue Beetle follows Jamie Reyes (Xolo Maridueña) on his journey of discovering his superpowers while struggling against evil forces wielding technology far beyond what any human being should possess. 

A Haunting in Venice (September 15)

A Haunting in Venice transports viewers into a mysterious world filled with danger as famed detective Hercule Poirot (Kenneth Branagh) finds himself swept up into a post-World War II Venice mystery. At the eerie seance he was attending with other guests, one of them mysteriously dies. Can this baker’s dozen unlock the clues to unmask yet another murderer?

Dune: Part Two (November 3)

Dune: Part Two continues Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet)’s journey as he fights against oppressive forces that threaten his home planet Arrakis while discovering more about his own destiny than he ever expected. 

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (November 17)

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will bring audiences back into Panem where they will follow an 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth), years prior to his role as the tyrannical president of the previous films, who looks to mentor District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler) in a chance to change their fates.

Wonka (December 15)

In 2023, an exciting new adventure to discover the origins of beloved confectioner Willy Wonka is coming to theaters! Get ready for a journey back in time as young Wonka (Timothée Chalamet) embarks on one of his earliest daring missions — meeting the Oompa-Loompas.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (December 25)

For those looking for more action-packed adventures in 2023’s cinematic lineup, there’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. This will bring viewers into an underwater adventure with Arthur Curry (Jason Mamoa) as he attempts to discover an ancient civilization that could prove very beneficial in saving his kingdom from destruction.
